Our Story
The Stables,
La Fregondée
Tucked into the clifftop farmland of La Fregondée, The Stables is a converted outbuilding that has been part of Sark's rural landscape for generations. Originally built to shelter horses and store farm equipment, the building has been thoughtfully transformed into a warm, characterful home.
Sark is one of the last truly quiet places in Europe. No cars, no traffic lights, no chain shops. Just 600 acres of meadows, cliffs, and coastline, and a community of around 500 people who have chosen to live at a slower pace.
The Stables sits close to the island's western cliffs, with footpaths leading to Havre Gosselin and the dramatic rock formations of the Gouliot Headland. On clear evenings, the sky above La Fregondée is as dark as anywhere in the British Isles. Sark was the world's first Dark Sky Island, and the stars here are extraordinary.

Getting Here
Find The Stables
By Air
Fly to Guernsey Airport (GCI) from London Gatwick, Southampton, Manchester, Bristol, or Exeter. Aurigny and Blue Islands both operate regular services. The flight from London takes around an hour.
Guernsey to Sark
Take the Isle of Sark Shipping Company ferry from St Peter Port, Guernsey. The crossing takes around 45 to 55 minutes. Ferries run daily in season, so book ahead in summer.
Sark Harbour to The Stables
From La Maseline Harbour, hop on the toast-rack (the tractor-bus) up Harbour Hill, or enjoy the 10-minute walk to the top. Head through The Avenue, then pick up a bike from Avenue Cycles (book in advance) or follow the signs towards The Duck Pond on foot.
Luggage is handled by Island Deliveries, a separate service from the ferry. Pick up the blue Island Deliveries labels from the Sark Shipping office before you travel, fill them in, and call the number on the label to arrange collection at least 12 hours before departure. Cost: £1.50 per item each way. Soft bags and rucksacks work much better than wheeled suitcases on Sark.

Pay your deposit
A 30% deposit secures your dates. We will send a secure payment link by email. The deposit is non-refundable.
Pay the balance
The remaining balance is due 8 weeks before you arrive. We will send a payment link at that time. If you book within 8 weeks of arrival, full payment is due upfront.
